Since 1990, the Back Mountain Dance Studio has offered classes in tap, jazz and ballet for children beginning at age three. Classes are available for private, semi private and group instruction and priced in half hour sessions.

The studio offers both competitive and non-competitive classes all year round. Teachers try to bring in parents on a weekly basis at the end of the lesson so you are able to observe your child's progress.

What is a combination class? You see them advertised everywhere. Most of the time, a combination class covers tap, jazz and ballet usually in a 45 minute time frame and for what appears to be a reasonable amount of money. Wrong. Changing shoes three times...

Getting students lined up to present new material three times. Allowing parents to observe. Someone needs to use the bathroom. Another needs to use the bathroom. With all said and done, you have just paid for approximately 18 minutes of dancing instruction in three categories and your child has accomplished nothing. These "combo" classes are useless and a waste of time and money. Needless to say, we don't offer them.
